NORTHBROOK COMPETITIVE FIGURE SKATING TEAM

Offering personal growth and social opportunities that make every skater feel like a winner.

WHAT IS NCFST?

The Northbrook Competitive Figure Skating Team (NCFST) is an organization that offers skaters of various ages and levels the opportunity to compete in ISI competitions in a friendly and supportive environment.

  • Skaters have the opportunity to practice their routines during Friday night team ice.
  • Skaters compete in a minimum of two ISI competitions per year.
  • Team parties and activities throughout the year are a fun way for skaters to develop friendships with other team members.

    • WHAT IS ISI?


    Ice Skating Institute (ISI) endorses recreational ice skating competitions in cities across America. Skaters compete against one another in small groups, increasing their chance to win a medal or trophy. The Northbrook Open is one of many ISI competitions in the Chicago area each year.

    WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN NCFST?

    Any skater, at least six years of age, who is enrolled in the Northbrook Skating School and skating at the Pre-Alpha level or higher is eligible to join NCFST.
    *Children under 6 years of age may be associate members.

    WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TEAM MEMBERSHIP?

  • Team Ice: The team has reserved practice ice time for members on most Friday nights from September through March.
  • Team Parties and Activities: There are several team parties scheduled throughout the season, including a Family Skate Night, Interpretation Night, and Year-End Banquet.
  • Team Coach: The team coach, Laila Schlesinger, is available to members at all team-sanctioned competitions.
  • And most important: Team members support one another and nurture the spirit of good sportsmanship!
